My daughter decided that we should start spending Tuesday nights together quilting. Her husband is gone that night so it would be a good night for both of us. So last night was our first night and this is the first quilt block that she has ever made.
Its from the "Women of Charm" book. Its an older book that I have had for several years. We bought all the fabric a couple of years ago but I lived far away from her at that time and it was hard to get together. But now that I live right around the corner it works out pretty good. She only has eight more to go!
Look at you....I get you helped set up and you already have as many posts and more comments than me...no fair. :) You are way better at this than me mom...but thanks for posting my semi-work-of-art. We will see how it all turns out.
ReplyDeleteWell your daughter is very clever and I love the colours. Carn't wait to see the rest. better go to your daughters blog now. Have fun next Tuesday.

For a first quilting block, I think she did amazingly well. Quilting is the one thing I never learned to do. Crochet, counted cross stitich, knitting, tatting, embroidery, sewing; I have done them all. But quilting has eluded me. I once made a set of log cabin quilted coasters for a friend's housewarming, using scraps of cloth that she had given me. It is the only quilting project I've every done, and I made a hundred mistakes. Enough to tell me I was not a natural in that area......... LOL. I'm sure you and your daughter are going to have a fun time quilting together. I look forward to seeing your finished quilt for the swap. Have fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that block. She did a great job on her first block!
