Sweater is coming along!

I have the back and two sides done and on the blocking board!
I started the sleeves, I'm doing both and the same time. Its nice to do both at once then they come out just the same.

I found this wonderful blog Julie Whitmore Pottery and she makes the most beautiful pottery. I had her make these buttons for my sweater. I decided to use only two of them so I can see a one button shawl in my future!
I have a nice day!

You Just Can't Have Enough Polka Dots!

No you just can't have enough polka dots! I needed new everyday dishes so bad and look what I found. The brand is Temp-tations and you can find them on QVC. I found the glasses at Target and the cute little salt and pepper shakers came from Pier 1.
I don't drink tea but the tea pot was just to cute to pass up!
Have a lovely day!

Look Grass!

I can't believe how fast the grass came in with a few weeds but after some weed killer added its looking really good!
I was very happy when I was able to finally put my table together that I purchased last fall for 1/2 price!
I already had the chairs and cushions which came from an old neighbor that was moving to Florida. Then I added the cute butterfly pillows!
I found the little table at Home Depot on clearance it matches the table and chairs!

A bottle tree for a little art!
My purple shelf turned out nicely with the green walls. Hubby brought some fun bottles home from work that look great with a few Blackeyed Susan's from the garden!
Well that's a look at my patio and now the weather has turned cold a high of 68 today, so it might not get to much uses this summer but I'm looking forward to spring!

Shawl Done!

I'm so happy I finished my shawl and its on the blocking board drying!
New yarn from Jimmy Bean Wool for a new sweater! Isn't the color great its called Robins egg blue.
With the pumpkin quilt done and at the quilters its time to think of a new one. Over the years I have purchased so much fabric and several kits. This one is a Christmas quilt with stars and angels.

Here is the picture from the book, it looks like it should be a fun one to put together. I'm going to try and have it done before December, wish me luck!
Oh by the way Paisley is doing will and the bugs are almost gone, haven't seen my flag around but getting an alarm system put in today!
Happy Days!

What A Sad Face!

Look at this sad face she was attacked by a dog while hubby was out walking her a few days ago.
She was a very lucky puppy that she only needed two staples in her back. But what I couldn't believe is that the people that owned the dog that attacked her was mad that we thought they should pay the vet bill and they didn't even say that they were sorry that there dog would do such a thing!

And then on top of that I went out yesterday and my flag that hangs on my house was gone, yes someone walked up my mile long driveway and up the stairs to the porch and took it!
And on top of all that we have been invaded by these ugly bugs and when I mean invaded they took over my back yard and my patio. There was millions of them all over my house you couldn't go outside because there was no where to walk. I had to drive Paisley down to my daughters house to go on her grass. She still had the bugs at her house but not as bad. We even made the news and neighbors that have lived out there for over ten years said they had never seen anything like it before. Hubby sprayed three times and they are still there but bigger. But now the birds have come and they are eating what is still alive so I don't think we will need to spray again!
I sure hope things are better at your house!

A sewing weekend!

This was a busy sewing weekend for me but boy did I get allot done. Daughter and I almost got the aprons done more mine then hers. She keep having to stop to take care of the boys but I'm sure there will be another day of sewing this week.
And look at this I was able to get my pumpkin quilt all put together and it is off to the quilters today! I was really worried that I would not find the time to get it done so it can hang in the hall for the fall season but its always nice when I find that little bit of time!
Have a great and beautiful summer day!

Life without a Computer!

Yes the computer is having big problems which makes it a problem to get any blogging done. But then there's not much to talked about right now anyway! I did think you might like to see some pretty little Blackeyed Susan's which I love. I planted them last year but they just didn't do very well but I have learned that out here where I live the second year is much better.
Remember the shawl that I was working on and then I thought the cable just might be wrong, will it was and I was able to get the correction. Then after taking it all apart and starting over I am now about half way done and hoping to finish it in the next two weeks. I did say hoping to finish!

The cable looks so much better and believe it or not it is much easier to knit!

Daughter and I cut out two aprons out of left over fabric from quilting and we have a date to sew them together on Friday!
Hope your computer is running good!

Espalier Apple Trees

We have spent the last five days working in the yard hoping to get the grass in soon. This is what I worked on its the fence into my garden. I was lucky enough to find the apple trees already espaliered. I put the posts in and then attached 16 gauge wire from post to post leaving a entrance into my garden. Then using a pair of old nylons I cut them into pieces and attached the branches to the wires. This fall I will do a little trimming and as they fill in I will have a beautiful living fence with fruit. After the garden is in I will be building a cute gate for my garden entrance!

Have a wonderful day!

Hard Work!

Will can you believe it the new guy showed up on Friday and Saturday and boy is my yard looking beautiful! The only rocks that are left is the ones holding up the mountain.
This is the rock wall that you see walking out of the back door and I managed to move all of the herbs I had planted last year out front and some more new ones! I also planted some ground cover roses that have had a hard time with our up and down weather here!

Next year it should all fill in and look much better but in the mean time I will still continue to find more to plant.

This is the front of the house and the curb guy will be coming on Wednesday to get the curbing around the trees and for my flower beds out there. But look no rocks!!!

Except for the rock wall but I have 75 daylillies that should be delivered by the 7th of July that will feel between the rock walls. I'm sure I will have enough to put in other flower beds around the yard!
Have a wonderful summer day and I hope your yard is coming along!

Yard Man No Show!

Yes this is my yard and this isn't what is was going to look like this week. We had hired a guy to come after hubby got all the sprinklers in and grade it and put top soil down.
Will guess what he did not show up on Thursday or Friday and hubby tried to call and left several messages but never have heard back from him. So we called several other guys to come out and give us bids and the last guy we really liked.

He will be out Friday and Saturday this week to get her done we hope! Have you ever seen so many rocks?
Lets all hope this week is my lucky week!

New Red Flowers

Out with the yellow tulips and in with the red geraniums. This basket has worked just great on the front door when I saw these red geraniums on sale at Jo Ann's I grabbed a bunch came home pulled out the yellow tulips and put in the geraniums, how easy is that!
They look great on the front door and they go well with the new red chairs.

And then I planted some real live ones in my pots but they are just taking there little time blooming.
Have a beautiful summer day!

New Red Chairs

The snow has finally stopped and it has warmed up and now there is flooding! We had this same problem back in 1983 when they had to make one of our main roads a river to direct the water away from homes. We live in such a crazy area but I'm so happy to have warm whether. I was able to paint my bakers rack and unwrap the new red chairs for the front porch.
I'm thinking a outdoor rug would be nice and I think Paisley would enjoy one! It would just make it seem cozy and warm.

I still need to find some more fun things to put on the rack but I think it looks pretty good so far.

The front of the house is coming along nicely I have the two beds filled with flowers now if hubby could just get the rest of the yard done! He is working very hard at doing that and it should be ready for grass next week, I hope!
I hope you are having nice whether and getting allot of yard work done!
