Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! I know we did and it all began with Wednesday pie making day. My daughter and I spent the day making pumpkin and apple pies. And boy it they taste good and I think they looked pretty good also.
I have these great little cutters that make leaves, acorns, and pumpkins.

On Thanksgiving Day we only had the kids for pie it was the year that they all go to there in laws for dinner. It was the first year in our marriage that we where alone for dinner. But it turned out to be such a nice day. We got up and put our turkey in the oven and decided to decorate the house for Christmas. So down went the fall decor and out came the Christmas. Last year we moved into the house three days before Christmas so I didn't put up to much stuff. So it was fun to get everything out and decided what I was going to use and where. There will be pictures coming!
Then on Friday we got up at 4:00am and yes we went shopping! I know I think we are crazy too! The rest of the long weekend was spent knitting, also pictures to come.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

From Old to New

We've had this chair for sixteen years it was in our second home three homes back and I always loved the chair but the fabric didn't go with this house. So off to have it recovered!
And here she is all fun fabrics with a little rooster added! I also had it piped in the same fabric as my curtains.
I also had this lamp just setting down stairs in our storage room and so I got it out and covered the lamp shade to match my new chair. I think it turned out so cute and the tussles have a little bead just above them. Is tussles the right word for them???
And here we are setting next to the warm fireplace! I think this will be such a nice place to set and knit!
I also had a cushion made out of some of the same fabric as the cushion on the chair to go on my window seat in the kitchen.
I had it piped in a red and gold checked fabric that my curtains in the great room are made of and now I will make a few pillows out of it to match the window seat! And I'm going on ebay to look for a few rooster pillows, wish me luck!

Have a wonderful day!

Fabric For a New Quilt Hawaiian Style

While in Hawaii had came across some beautiful fabric and the first thing I thought was that our granddaughter is going to graduate in the spring of 2011 from high school. Yes I have a granddaughter that is going to be 17 in January. Its really hard for me to believe that she is that old. But she is half Hawaiian and I thought what a fun gift for graduation then a quilt out of fabric that I found in Oahu. Her favorite color is purple and I know that she also likes lime green!
I also picked up a bundle of fat quarters! Now I just need to decide what I'm going to do with all of it! But then I do have a year in a half to get it done!
Oh I'm doing better, I now can see out of my eye. I just need the headaches to go away and the pain where the rash is!
Happy Thanksgiving and thank you to all that lifted such nice messages!

What! Shingles

Yes I have Shingles! And I'm a lucky one because I have it on my face and in my hair. It started on my left eye so my eye is swollen shut. Most of the pain is in my head, neck, arms and legs, OK most of my body. The doctor said three to six weeks but he did put me on Valtrex which helps!

But I will be back!!!

Snorkeling in Hanauma Bay

On the third day in Oahu we went to Hanauma Bay to snorkel. They only let so many in each day but still there is allot of people.
You can see the reef from up here!
Can you see hubby out there!
Oh here he is coming out of the water!
It was one of the most beautiful places we've been. I had never been snorkeling but it was so much fun to see all the beautiful fish. We had wished that we had gotten a under water camera.
