Its beginning to look alot like Christmas!

Its beginning to look allot like Christmas out my back door! We live on one acre of mountain side and I love the way it looks with snow. But I didn't like driving home in it after what was our first Christmas party of the season. And we are going out tonight to my work party and I'm hoping it clears up.
Back in the 70's my aunt was the manager of a Hallmark and my mother and I would go to visit her and have lunch and yes do a little shopping with my aunts discount! In 1980 Hallmark came out with the Frosty Friends ornaments. I somehow missed the first one but in 1981 I found this one. And the collection began!
My sweet mother would buy me the next one for my anniversary every year. Then after her passing my daughters would buy the next one and get there money back from hubby. I have every year but the first one and yes I have looked on eBay and it go's for $300 to $500 and I just can't see spending that much to have it! But I do look forward to each year and so does the kids. But I think they all are wondering who will get the collection when I die!

Happy Holidays!

Julie

  3. Julie! I collect Frosty Friends, too! I am very fortunate to have the first in the series. My best friend bought it for me for my birthday one July. I think maybe they are cheaper on ebay when it's not the Christmas season. Every year when we would get out the collection I'd say, I have every one except the first and look so pitiful. I was really just teasing her, but she says she found a good deal on it. I just love that cute series. Nice to see someone else who collects them! Have a wonderful day! Twyla

  6. Those ornaments are so cute and you have quite a collection! All we've had so far is rain rain and more rain. We don't normally get snow in Atlanta until about February. But who knows the weather has been weird all year!
