Espalier Apple Trees

We have spent the last five days working in the yard hoping to get the grass in soon. This is what I worked on its the fence into my garden. I was lucky enough to find the apple trees already espaliered. I put the posts in and then attached 16 gauge wire from post to post leaving a entrance into my garden. Then using a pair of old nylons I cut them into pieces and attached the branches to the wires. This fall I will do a little trimming and as they fill in I will have a beautiful living fence with fruit. After the garden is in I will be building a cute gate for my garden entrance!

Have a wonderful day!

  8. Julie I'm really looking forward to seeing your espaliered apple trees when they're filled out and also your gate when you get it done. I noticed all your large rocks...that's a lot of work getting those things moved around and you've got so many! It will be beautiful when you're done. I can't wait to see it finished. Take care...Maura :)
