Beginning Painting Class

This is the start of the pictures from the painting class that we started last week. Hubby's picture is of a hike that we went on in the Smokey Mountains. It was a year ago this last May that we visited there with our son and his family.
Here is mine and it also is a picture that I took when we went to the Smokey's. It is of my two grandson's walking towards a barn. We have allot of work to do on them but I think they aren't to bad for beginners. We've talked for years about taking a painting class together so it pretty neat that we started one.

Hubby's mother was such a beautiful painter and is 88 and doesn't paint anymore so she gave us all of her supplies. She even gave hubby her easel so I didn't have one so hubby got me this one off of eBay. Its a french style easel and folds up to a box so that I can take it outside or with us when we travel.
Hope you have a warm spring day, it looks like rain here!
Julie

  1. I love what both of you are doing. Very different styles, yours has a wonderful, simple primitive look to it...meant as a huge compliment. Please let your husband know that I love his clouds, something I have never been able to get right.

    Looking forward to the finish.

    Blessings,
    Jilly

  7. Both paintings are looking great and good to hear that you are both enjoying it together. I use to love to paint but I'm afraid the closes I get to painting now is the house lol. Carn't wait to see some more from you both.
