Christmas Past

Another Christmas gone by! I love Christmas and enjoy the time spent with family and friends. But my most favorite part is the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. I love watching all the Christmas movies and listening to my favorite Christmas music. The putting up of the tree's and the lights. I love Christmas Eve and Day don't get me wrong but it always seems so busy and it go's by so fast!
We had all the kids Christmas Eve this year and my daughter and son help with the cooking of the dinner. I didn't want to do the same thing that we seem to always cook which is ham so I asked my so to make a pork loin. As you can see everyone was waiting in anticipation!

He sliced it down the middle and stuffed it with crumbled blue cheese and cranberries with fresh rosemary and boy did it smell good!
It looked so nice sliced with the red cranberries!
My daughter made a lasagna stuffed with cheese and squash! It turned out to be such a nice dinner and the watching of the kids open there gift with such excitement.

The day after Christmas we go to a movie and then back to the house for left overs. This year it was the back to our sons new home and a few games of Wii!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The Grand Dog has arrived for Christmas!

Our grand dog and his mother have come for Christmas! My daughter and her sweet Golden doodle "Wash" have come from Colorado. Yes his name is "Wash" its from a movie!
I've added a little Christmas around the banister and it lights up!
I bought a new ornament from Pier 1 its my dream car!
I didn't know what to put on the table so I took a quilt that I've had for sometime now, no its not one that I have made. But I think it look nice with my snowman and Santa candle holders.

I hope your all ready for Christmas its coming fast!

Christmas Tree

Just thought you might like to see one of my two Christmas trees! And yes there is Paisley still setting in front of the fire.
I took one of my old sleigh's and hang a wreath on it with a little snowman and a JOY ornament. I think its so cute!
Under the tree is Santa with his snowy bears and a moose!
A close up of some of the ornaments and my red checkered bows!
I found some time to bake some pumpkin bread in these bread pans I found at Michael's for only $1.00.
I finished my granddaughters skirt and the sweater vest that I knitted. Its so hard to see out of black but I can't wait to give it to her tonight!
My little grandson out grew his old hat and it has now been pasted down to his little brother. So I went to the yarn boxes and found some yarn and I should have it done today!

Merry Christmas!

More snow and snowmen

And it just keeps coming! As you can see its just a little foggy today and we got snow all day yesterday and its still snowing!
Here's looking up the mountain side, the snow is so wet and heavy the branches of the trees are hanging on the ground.
I managed to get my granddaughters sweater vest done and on the blocking board. I sat it in front of the fireplace in my craft room to get dry!
My collection of snowmen on top of my dish cabinet. They are all gifts from friends over the years!
I think my most favorite one is the tall one at the back. It was made by a neighbor several houses back!
I bought these a couple of years back for a party that we had to bring a $5.00 gift for a game we played. I liked them so much that I won them back!
My sister painted the snowman lid for the candy jar and I just bought the plate at Hobby Lobby for 50% off!

Happy Holidays!

And the snow just keeps coming!

These are pictures of last Tuesday when most of Utah got dumped on! Hubby decided to make it a Papa and monkey day. So he went down the street to get our little grandson to make a snowman but all monkey wanted to do was shovel driveways and sidewalks.
So after shoveling all the neighbors they came back here to finish off ours and play the Wii tell it was time for us to leave for my work Christmas Party.
I've added a little Christmas to the front door and hubby did get the lights up before the snow came. One of the things I need to work on is getting more decor for the outside! This cute angel came from a good friend years ago so I just added it to a wreath that I found downstairs on the shelf and you can't go wrong with adding a bow!
I love how my mantle has turned out with just a few of my many snowmen!
With a few wooden trees and a couple of little matchbox music boxes!
With some garland hanging and more of those bows and our stockings that I made out of fleece with a black velvet tops several years ago. I do have some knitting patterns that I purchased after Christmas last year that I was going to knit for this year but I just got to busy putting quilts together so maybe next year!
And here it is all Christmas like with the fire going and yes there's Paisley right where she always is keeping warm!

Merry Christmas!

Its beginning to look alot like Christmas!

Its beginning to look allot like Christmas out my back door! We live on one acre of mountain side and I love the way it looks with snow. But I didn't like driving home in it after what was our first Christmas party of the season. And we are going out tonight to my work party and I'm hoping it clears up.
Back in the 70's my aunt was the manager of a Hallmark and my mother and I would go to visit her and have lunch and yes do a little shopping with my aunts discount! In 1980 Hallmark came out with the Frosty Friends ornaments. I somehow missed the first one but in 1981 I found this one. And the collection began!
My sweet mother would buy me the next one for my anniversary every year. Then after her passing my daughters would buy the next one and get there money back from hubby. I have every year but the first one and yes I have looked on eBay and it go's for $300 to $500 and I just can't see spending that much to have it! But I do look forward to each year and so does the kids. But I think they all are wondering who will get the collection when I die!

Happy Holidays!

Candy Cane Quilt Done!

As you can see my Christmas Quilt is done and ready to hang for the Christmas season. I love how it has turned out but it is a little smaller then I like. But you just can't go wrong with dots! I wish you could see the quilting better but its done in white so I just couldn't get it to show up.

Here she is hanging up in my hallway right next to the great room. And I think she looks pretty nice on the green wall.

Merry Christmas to all and thanks for reading my blog!

Something I've Been Working On!

I've been working on a little outfit for my granddaughter. I had saved some old dresses that I had from back in the 80's and my granddaughter thought that I should make her a new dress so off to the fabric basket to look and see what I had. And I found a dress out of this fabric that I thought would make a great skirt. As you can see I have the skirt done and now I'm working on knitting a black sweater vest to go with it! I haven't got a picture of it yet but it will come.

Happy Holidays!
