Paint Found!

I found the paint colors and I also bought a nice blue paint for some old hunter green plastic chairs that I have had for years. I have never painted plastic lawn chairs before I hope it doesn't chip off. If anyone has done it before let me know how it turned out!

Adding a little something to the porch!

As I've said before our home is a new home without a yard but we are working on changing that. We've been working hard digging out rock walls so that we can add some nice dirt back in and we also was able to have a guy come and tench the front and back for the sprinklers. Hubby thought that he would be able to get most of them done over the last few day but no it snowed and is still snowing. Utah it has such crazy weather here!

But I've been working on making the front porch look like another room of the house. I found this great bakers rack on line for only $20.00 and the lady just lived 30 minutes away! It was green but she had painted it black so I think I shall repaint it the same color. I have found a few things around the house to put on it but I'm always looking for more. I also purchased some great chairs but I will not reveal them tell it stops snowing.
Then you won't believe what I found! Our city had a clean up day and the dumpster was put in front of the lot next to us. Someone put the same bakers rack on the ground next to the dumpster so yes this one was FREE! I'm thinking of painting this one a plum color so its off to look for paint!
Have a beautiful day and I hope its not snowing where you live!

New flowers for the front porch

I've been working on gathering things for the front porch and I found this cute tulip pot at Walmart so I planted it with primrose. There's a red one on the other side that you don't see. I'm hoping that it will stay blooming because it going to be on a shelf in mostly shade and they say they will bloom longer if in shade!
I also found time to bake bread and bottle some strawberry jam, Yum!

Pumpkin Quilt!

With painting class and we've been working in our yard getting it ready to receive grass and flowers that I haven't had much time for anything else. But I did find some time while it decided to snow again to get some of my pumpkin quilt sewed together. Now I just need to find some more time to cut out the border that will be around this part! But I don't want it to snow anymore so maybe this weekend!

Have a beautiful spring day we are getting into the 60's here!!!

Beginning Painting Class

This is the start of the pictures from the painting class that we started last week. Hubby's picture is of a hike that we went on in the Smokey Mountains. It was a year ago this last May that we visited there with our son and his family.
Here is mine and it also is a picture that I took when we went to the Smokey's. It is of my two grandson's walking towards a barn. We have allot of work to do on them but I think they aren't to bad for beginners. We've talked for years about taking a painting class together so it pretty neat that we started one.

Hubby's mother was such a beautiful painter and is 88 and doesn't paint anymore so she gave us all of her supplies. She even gave hubby her easel so I didn't have one so hubby got me this one off of eBay. Its a french style easel and folds up to a box so that I can take it outside or with us when we travel.
Hope you have a warm spring day, it looks like rain here!

I took a break!

I'm sorry but I think I needed a break from blogging to get things done and rest! But I'm back and I thought that I would tell you about my birthday. I was at the end of March and these lovely garden boots were given by my Hubby. He also gave me oil paints and signed us up for a class together. We started yesterday and boy was it fun!
My six year old grandson's birthday comes just two days after mine so we decided to have a party together at a place call "Blouncing off the Walls". We invited our family and my daughter-n-laws family and there neighbors.

As you can see there was allot of people mostly ones under the age of twelve!

This is my son coming down the slide and yes I did go down it three times with my seventeen year old granddaughter!
Have a wonderful spring day!
