Have you ever heard of Kindergarten Graduation

Will we hadn't tell our little granddaughter let us know that she was graduating from kindergarten and that we need to be there!
It was so fun to see how excited she is about moving on to first grade. She's the cute little blond in the middle!

I wanted to do something fun for her and she loves to write her own stories and you wouldn't believe how well she can read. So I found a really nice note book and covered the front and back with scrap book paper, used the little girl stamp that I had and add all the ribbons and there you have a great gift!
We have another one to go to next month for a grandson, what to make for him!!!

A Day of Shopping in Colorado

My daughter and I went out to Colorado a day before everyone else so we could go to some great Flea markets and Antique shops in Fort Collins. I found this pitcher at one of the shops it was a little pricey at $14.00 but I really like it.

Its not quite the same color as my larger one but I still like the way it looks on my mantel.

I also found this rolling pin and it looks really good in the hand made wood bowl that is used for raising bread in. I also purchased a hat for the daughter that lives there, she collects old hats and I forgot to get a picture of it.
Once again its raining here so no working in the yard today. I looks like a good day to sew and paint!

Colorado We Went!

We just got back from a long weekend in Colorado where my daughter graduated from Colorado State with her masters! It was so fun the whole family went with the exception of our oldest son's family.
My older daughter is really into making cupcakes and she made these cute graduation caps for dessert, CSU's colors are green and yellow!

While we were there we went to some pretty fun places. One was a metal museum of all sorts of animals and crazy things. Here is my grandson with a stick killing the two headed dragon.

We also went to a Butterfly museum and it was so neat. They had Butterflies from all over the world.

This was one of my favorites and I'm thinking I just may need to paint it!
Its raining like mad here today but I hope its warm where you are!

First Pioneer Sweater is Done!

Pattern: Pioneer Top, can be found on Knitty.com for free
Yarn: Lorna's Lace Shepherd Sport
Needles: #5

Will I finished my Pioneer sweater and as I finished I looked down into my basket and wondered why would I have one and a half skeins of yarn left over. Will you won't believe this because I didn't, I made the wrong size. The pattern says that it runs small so I had decided to make a size larger than normal. But this came out two sizes smaller and I'm pretty sure that its is going to fit my little granddaughter. I really like how it turned out and will be ordering more yarn to make a new one for me. I think I will try a new color maybe in more blues and maybe some green.

I've started two new knitting projects and pictures will soon be coming!

Paint Found!

I found the paint colors and I also bought a nice blue paint for some old hunter green plastic chairs that I have had for years. I have never painted plastic lawn chairs before I hope it doesn't chip off. If anyone has done it before let me know how it turned out!

Adding a little something to the porch!

As I've said before our home is a new home without a yard but we are working on changing that. We've been working hard digging out rock walls so that we can add some nice dirt back in and we also was able to have a guy come and tench the front and back for the sprinklers. Hubby thought that he would be able to get most of them done over the last few day but no it snowed and is still snowing. Utah it has such crazy weather here!

But I've been working on making the front porch look like another room of the house. I found this great bakers rack on line for only $20.00 and the lady just lived 30 minutes away! It was green but she had painted it black so I think I shall repaint it the same color. I have found a few things around the house to put on it but I'm always looking for more. I also purchased some great chairs but I will not reveal them tell it stops snowing.
Then you won't believe what I found! Our city had a clean up day and the dumpster was put in front of the lot next to us. Someone put the same bakers rack on the ground next to the dumpster so yes this one was FREE! I'm thinking of painting this one a plum color so its off to look for paint!
Have a beautiful day and I hope its not snowing where you live!
